Fernando Lugo, former Paraguayan president, is in an induced coma

The former president of Paraguay, Fernando Lugo, is in an induced coma after suffering a stroke on Wednesday. The one who was the president of the South American country between 2008 and 2012 is being treated at a clinic in Asunción, according to Jorge Querey, a legislator from the leftist coalition to which Lugo is a part. The former president, 71, was in the Senate. For now, studies indicate that the imbalance was due to his recent visit to Bogotá, where he attended the inauguration of Gustavo Petro as the new president of Colombia. According to Querey, this was cause for a seizure.

The toographies taken, according to the press, showed an injury, so he will undergo other tests to determine the exact damage. The former president is expected to remain in an induced coma between 12 and 24 hours to properly oxygenate his brain. In August 2010, Lugo had been diagnosed with early-stage lymphoma cancer, from which he recovered after 2 years of treatment in Brazil.

Pedro Castillo suffers another blow after the arrest of his sister-in-law

The Peruvian president, Pedro Castillo, once again suffers a setback in his countless list of scandals. This week, her sister-in-law, Yenifer Paredes, was arrested for money laundering. A recent study, published in the journal Neurology, ensures that getting involved in domestic activities of cleaning and caring for the home is a good method to prevent Alzheimer's. The research, by scientists at Sichuan University in Chengdu in China, found that performing tasks such as cooking, sweeping, cleaning the house, gardening, mowing the lawn, and being involved in housekeeping in general, could potentially decrease up to 21% chances of developing this disease. Likewise, those who exercise regularly (35%) and those who maintain close relationships with their loved ones (15%) have a lower risk of suffering from dementia.

Drought threatens most of Europe

The European Drought Observatory has warned that there is an affectation of 63% of the lands of the European Union and the United Kingdom due to the climate.
